Success but No Wild Card for Warriors

Although our Warriors had a rough Game 1 of the Memorial Weekend Metro Tourney, the players pulled together to earn two wins to complete the tournament.

In Game 1 against Grant Park, our Warriors experienced tough officiating and numerous players hit by pitches. Between these two challenges, and our own errors in the field, we fell to Grant Park 16-2. Game 2 of the double-header that day gave our Warriors a chance to redeem themselves and demonstrate their hitting and fielding strength. In a race against the clock, the Warriors defeated Limestone 8-6, earning their first WIN for the tournament. Game 3 against New Lenox continued the success as our players dominated the ball field in every position. Our team defeated New Lenox 7-2, for our second WIN of the tourney. With a record of 2-1, we were knocked out of the "Wild Card" race due to our tough run differential from Game One.

While we didn't come away from this first tournament with a championship trophy, our Warriors grew stronger each game and showed they came to play!
Way to go Warriors!
